• Construction and alterations projects (including agricultural buildings), as well as excavation and grading projects require zoning review by the township.  Please contact the township during general or supervisor office hours before beginning a project.
  • Building Inspections are conducted by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulations, Bureau of Construction Codes, 517-241-9313.  Building permit applications are available through the township office or may be downloaded from www.michigan.gov/bcc. 
  • Burn Permits may be obtained by calling NIESA at 517-655-1383.  Open burning of waste that contains plastic, rubber, foam, chemically treated wood, textiles, electronics, chemicals or hazardous materials is prohibited by law.  Residents may still burn yard waste such as brush and leaves, and household waste such as cardboard and paper products.
  • Township Cemeteries – Cemetery lots are available in Dennis Cemetery on Holt Road.  Please contact Township Sexton, Polly Brainerd, at 517-230-2731 for more information.
